I came upon the stories which inspired this short historical novel quite by chance.
And in doing so I discovered an interesting and poignant similarity in the lives of Galileo Galilei and Raymond Kolbe, although they were divided by three centuries.
In Galileo’s case it was the dogma of the Roman Catholic Church which threatened the very future of modern scientific discovery at a pivotal point in mankind’s intellectual development.
In Kolbe’s case, he, a devout Roman Catholic priest, displayed enormous God-given courage in the face of tyrannical Nazi dogma, by coming to the aid of Jewish people at the height of the Holocaust.
I have used the vehicle of a set of identical twins, with powers to travel back in time, to explore these incredible, but true, life stories.
